Spent a really cool evening at the Dirty Dog in Hamilton, shooting Shanya's concert there. I have to give a shout out to my friend Don Giannatti (wizwow) for his mentorship and help in setting up the concert part of my business. Because of his input we are going to be announcing some major concert shoots in the very near future. Stay tuned. This will be cool!
A while back I had a nice on-line chat with Ryan Brenizer. He was kind enough to coach me through his technique for creating unique panoramas with tightly controlled depth of field. I finall got around to trying his method a few days ago. This image consists of 28 frames all shot at a constant aperture and then stitched into a pano.
Yahoooo! I have added some new strobes and radio triggers to the arsenal. I asked Dakota to pose for some interesting shots since he is a budding MMA fighter. I used the whole kit n kaboodle to get this, gels, snoots, zoom and we ended up with some pretty cool stuff that he's gonna show off down at the gym.
Whoa! What a month. Since mid August I have turned most of my attention to the band shooting aspect of my business. I have had the pleasure of meeting some really cool people across several genres of music.
At Burlington Ribfest I met and chatted with Derek Holt founder of Climax Blues Band before his performance. He suggested the best place to shoot the show would be right from the stage so who am I to say no.
Derek had local guitarist Brian Dorsey fill in on lead guitar and I tell ya these guys could lay down a groove.
