Whoa! What a month. Since mid August I have turned most of my attention to the band shooting aspect of my business. I have had the pleasure of meeting some really cool people across several genres of music.
At Burlington Ribfest I met and chatted with Derek Holt founder of Climax Blues Band before his performance. He suggested the best place to shoot the show would be right from the stage so who am I to say no.
Derek had local guitarist Brian Dorsey fill in on lead guitar and I tell ya these guys could lay down a groove.
Also at Ribfest I was able to shoot Groove Corporation a really big band with 4 horns and they produced some really sweet blues and funk. This is frontman Kim Campagnola.
I will be shooting GrooveCorp again on Saturday night at Stonewall’s in Hamilton.
Then as an added bonus I found out that Sharon Musgrave was down at the harbourfront displaying her sweet sounding reggae/funk fusion. She welcomed me in with a hug when I asked to shoot the show.
Stay tuned folks there’s much more to come. On the 15th I will be shooting Eclectic Revival when they open for the Mudmen in Mississauga. This is gonna be a rollicking night of Celtic rock.
